Venini - Geacolor
In 1995 Gae Aulenti, an internationally renowned Italian architect, designed the "Geacolor" vase for Venini which will deeply mark the production of the company. The processing technique has a very interesting polychrome effect. The vase is in fact initially blown into a mold to obtain a perfectly spherical shape
At this point, more than forty transparent colored colored glass bubbles are blow and attached hot, then wisely broken in order to obtain irregular colored glass layers. The desired shape predisposed begins the so -called preparation of hot and flying hand colors, helping the color to shape on the surface of the object.
This process takes place for each color and, only at the end, the compact block is heated one last time to mix the entire surface. The technique of overlapping colors generates irregular and shapeless protrusions that constitute the diversity and uniqueness of each individual vase.
