Hans Christian Andersen is a Danish writer. It is one of the great authors of nineteenth -century fairy tales, reused the great heritage of the Nordic fairy tales in an original way, infusing in it a characteristic optimistic spirit. A profound idyllic-religious feeling and a bitter knowledge of life merge, in the best fairy tales, to create that duplicity and simultaneousness of fantastic-realistic vision, which allows him the most daring registry changes, the most bold doughs of colors. Son of a poor shoemaker, who spent his childhood in his closed world of sensory and imaginative forgiveness.
