The 100% Make Proust vessel is a masterpiece of Italian collection design.
In 1992, Alessandro Mendini collaborated with Alessi for the 100% Make-up project: one hundred porcelain jars, each decorated by one of one hundred artists who took part in the initiative, reproduced in a maximum of one hundred exemplary for a total edition of 10,000 vessels .
Alessi for the centenary has decided to sell 999 numbered specimens around the world of wonderful VASURE version 100% make up.
The Proust version offers an interpretation outside the common of the famous decoration imagined in 1976 by Alessandro Mendini. The indistinct pattern of fragmented color touches illustrates the attachment of Mendini to the bet.
Mendini has taken inspiration from the painting of the Proust era: the divisionist painting of Paul Signac proceeds to touch, for juxtaposed dots of pure colors.
